The Left is more willing to initiate violence, because they are sure they can escape long-term consequences. Look at William Ayers, Angela Davis, and the rest of the 1960's revolutionaries. Meanwhile, any right-winger who engages in violence becomes unemployable (because employers know that the Left will hound any company caught hiring them).

This changes radically once violence becomes common and general.

Notice that there has been very little of such violence in concealed carry / stand your ground states. I wonder why that is?
