burglaries and autotheft have skyrocketed in California since the passage of prop 47, which reduced penalties for such crimes to basically parole as “non-violent” crime.

If they are caught, they simply handed a strongly worded letter to not do that again.....

Areas which had never been targets for crime are now being hit and hit hard.

Where I live, my brother had his truck stolen, $40k worth of tools and damage to the truck.

Cops found his truck but, informed him to not hold his breath on the punks every doing any real time in the slammer due to prop 47.

WTH? So, these azzhats will just run around continue to victimize good people over and over with no recourse.....

My sympathies for your brother's loss. It's tough to lose that much, and nothing guarantees that he won't suffer another loss like that again in the future.

The laws against theft are especially needed to protect the poor as they can do little to get their property back, and because they are poor, a loss, even a small one, is a permanent loss. This is just another case of the Democrats looking out for the little guy.
