DONALD Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani says Kim Jong-un was so desperate for the meeting between the US and North Korea that he begged to reschedule it.
Mr Giuliani told a business conference in Israel that Mr Trump’s tough line had forced the North Korean leader’s hand.
Mr Giuliani said there was no choice but to cancel the June 12 summit after Kim insulted the US vice president and national security and threatened nuclear war.
“We said, ‘Well, we’re not going to have a summit under those circumstances,”’ Mr Giuliani said. “Well, Kim Jung-un got back on his hands and knees and begged for it, which is exactly the position you want to put him in.”(continued)

The guy is Asian. Stop with the rhetoric designed to humiliate him. Unless, of course, thousands of years of the Asian mindset has disappeared. Trump can take a very hard line, without making Kim look like a buffoon. (He does that really well, all by himself).
I agree with everyone. That lighthearted response to the question of whether trump can pardon himself was appalling, and now this. He need to go back to wrapping up the Mueller probe in 2 weeks, since the 2 weeks ran, what, a couple months ago now
Rudy’s been saying a LOT of really stupid stuff lately.
Personally, I think people’s hopes are inflated that something meaningful, like an agreement to immediately begin denuclearization, will come out of this one day summit. I think it’s a stall tactic. Tyrants don’t typically change. If they agree to denuclearization, not only will DJT get the Nobel peace prize, he will have earned the moniker of the greatest President in 100 years destroying the Democrat Party - let’s just say it’s a long shot - like hoping Mueller soon ends his investigation with no real “charges” against Trump.
Rudy needs to stay away from the cameras and microphones. He should learn to say no comment.

President Trump has slapped rocket man's face more than once for all the world to see. And told him to like it.
It is not clear that Giuliani is not carrying-out Trump policy here, at the president's direction.
The purpose of all this is get rid of the Nork’s nuclear program, not to just get a meeting. There is still a need for extreme pressure by the U.S.

Since the day he changed his tone, I’ve been provisionary basis calling him Mr. Kim or Chairman Kim. As long as he behaves himself I’ll continue to do so. And I don’t object to the sometimes bellicose words that come out of NORK. That’s just standard asian negotiation tactics. That’s why Mr. Trump has to answer in kind! He KNOWs how to negotiate with Asians. He’s taking his time, doing the dance.
Or .... he told him to say it. President Trump is a master negotiator who has dealt with the mafia, the triad, unions, contractors, reporters and feckless bureaucrats.
