I disagree. The Chinese will be in for a rude awakening when they realize most of the teachers only know “studies”, as opposed to hard math, physics, and science.
The Chinese are likely enough to have plenty (with their population, they have pretty much plenty of everyone) of science, math teachers. They are looking for native-speaking English teachers. And they aren’t looking for speakers with noticeable accents, so Ebonics speakers really need not apply.
They want credentialed teachers who know how to follow lesson plans and how to work with kids. Biggest problem I’ve heard is that it’s all based on Beijing time, so the best time to do lessons (when the Chinese kids have free time) is very early in the A.M.
