When I watched this video, I had to do a second take. I thought I had misunderstood this mans words, but I was not mistaken. I am still amazed at what he said to the audience in trying to explain the sinister facets of artificial intelligence. As Elon Musk had said at an earlier time, we are summoning the demon.
This, too, is amazing to me, as Musk helped to create A.I. I dont know if any of you have noticed, but Elon has been on the downside of luck recently. He has had accident after accident with his inventions. I am really concerned for him, as he said earlier that humans were underrated.
He said this, as the accidents had begun to occur in his factories. He went in himself to investigate why these accidents were occurring. What happened next was amazing. He found that the flaws found in his products were coming from A.I. he had replaced his human workers with.
That is when he made the statement, humans are underrated. He then hired his workers back.

LOL.
Have you noticed all of the AI commercials being pushed by Microsoft?
Demons or Daemons?
The current state of AI is that it will proceed to optimize the best of what is done now and then remain that way forever.
A great aim, if you never want to do anything better.
Hillary...your phone is ringing.
AI is probably the greatest existential threat to humanity.
It is coming. It is going to be weaponized. And it is going to be able to outperform humans at nearly everything.
Elon Musk is right. And though sci-fi stores like Terminator and The Matix contain a lot of outlandish ideas, the core idea of runaway AI is a very real threat.
He has been programming from the Necronomicon of the mad Arab Abdul Alhazred.
It goes before the Terminator movies. Colossus - The Forbin Project.
Great post, thank you.
Interesting. Haven’t seen that one.
Unfortunately, the fiction is going to be a reality very soon. And I don’t think there is anything we can do to stop it.
However, God is in control. The fate of mankind will ultimately not be left to computers.
AI isnt sufficiently intelligent until it can explain to its owner why its proposed course of action is right.
The story takes place far in the future. Earth has become an uninhabitable wasteland of biological warfare. After fleeing Earth decades earlier, a contingent of humans returns to find a small band of beings, now not quite human, still fighting an enemy which has long since been annihilated. The title refers to the planet's surface, which has become a swirling mass of blue goo, a result of the biological agents acting and reacting one with another.
The punch line of this short story is:
The humans on Earth have modified their DNA to allow them to survive in this biological soup.
Their "offspring" as the call them don't resemble humans at all; in fact they look more like giant jellyfish.
Astronauts that have come back to Earth to see what has become of it report back: there are no humans left on Earth.
Humans are ill suited to survive anywhere but Earth. It is likely we will either:
1: modify our DNA to allow us to survive on other planets
2: create intelligent robots to explore the galaxy for us
We might even refer to either of these as our "offspring", but neither will be human in the true sense.
I think it's likely that if the universe is widely inhabited, they are mostly robots. And that we are on the path to adding our own robots.
