McCarthy repeats Comey’s defense on the leaking-classified-info claim by contending that only one memo was leaked to the NYT through his pal the Columbia law professor, and that memo did not contain classified info.
Four other memos did contain classified info, but were not leaked to the press, is the claim by Comey and McCarthy.
But so what? General David Petraeus was prosecuted for classified info in notes he made himself and kept in his home.
How is what Comey did any different? He created classified info in memos and kept them in his home and shared them with his law prof pal and his lawyers.
If Petraeus was prosecuted for this, shouldn’t Comey be as well? And remember, part of what was considered classified in Petraeus’ diary was notes of his conversations with President Obama — just as Comey wrote down notes of his conversations with President Trump.
