The Gunny also did voices for one of the Sponge Bob episodes. I think it was the one where Sponge Bob and Patrick join the army.

RIP Gunny.
I went through Parris Island in February of 1951 and as you pointed out, it was tough even for a young man in great physical shape. Those of us that made it through came out better than when we went in. I hate to say but the platoons of those waiting to be discharged were more than one could imagine.
