It is possible you know, the ancient chinese had a lever-activated, magazine-fed crossbow.
It would be bulky as heck, but it could be done.
There’s a German guy on youtube who builds and fires a Cam/power drill operated automatic crossbow. It’s awesome. I ve watched the vid several times more for his mad scientist laugh. Cool toy though.
