His choice was to sign, or have a veto overidden. I would have let it sit until after the deadline, allowing it to become law that way. The Republicans are to blame, but we’re set up with the false choice of bad and worse too often.
You don’t know that a veto would have been overridden. Also, those RINOs who voted to override could then be targeted for replacement by conservatives in the GOP primaries. Win or lose, having the vote provides transparency to the system that is much needed and sorely lacking. As it is, no one in the GOP will have to take any responsibility for this mess.
