Pelosi and Schumer declared victory on Friday following President Trumps fake veto, i.e. after The Donald signed a monster spending bill which blows the budget into oblivion. However, Trump promised this will never happen again after signing the 1.3 trillion dollars omnibus spending bill that was passed by the Republican dominated Congress. The omnibus bill does not address the border wall nor immigration issues. Trump complained that the Congress created a series of documents that nobody was able to read, hinting at the 2000+ pages of documents passed by the legislature, with lawmakers having less than 36 hours to read it. Needless to say, Democrats were celebrating on Friday at the news that Trump will sign the omnibus bill, as the POTUS initially announced he may veto the spending bill, yet he changed his mind and signed it after all, despite being unhappy about it, to quote the Presidents own words.

EXACTLY, so what in everyones mind was going to happen with so many RINOS voting with the dems ? The President veto it 12 hours till a shutdown and the shutdown happens ? Then, the dems and their GOPe partners override the veto and all high five each other having saved the country from the evil Trump shutdown ? Gee, which scenario would the Trump supporters now chastising have ? When enough of the 'supposed' majority party under their leadership 'mcconnel/ryan' turn tail and cross over to the dark side to torpedo the President, the blame rests squarely on them. The GOPe, members of the Obama deep state need to go.
Thanks for the prophecy.
which no sitting president wants to have his veto over-ridden.
Why not? Either you have your principles or you let others define them for you as Trump has just done.
He showed he had a responsibility to build up our military and he did it.
You are in the 5% that see the war clouds, and the need to prepare for them. Trade wars end in lead wars. This trade war is needed. I could do without the lead war, but will prepare fore it.
He didn’t negotiate the deal, Congress did.
“He went for the best bill he could get.”
The ‘best bill he could get’ is chock full of unknown legislation (2000+ pages worth) written by unelected staffers, each with an agenda to push.
I assure you the interest of most of the DC staff is directly opposed to most of our interests.
Amen! Instead the Trump bashers want to come on FR and blame it all on Trump!
So what...He will still be president.
I was wondering why we’re losing and here you are.
100% of everything I want?
Geez - I’d settle for 1% of what I want at this point.
You enjoy losing eh?
Well, that makes you a loser.
But at least you’re proud of that. :)
I believe him when he says it won't happen again.
The Democrats won't be able to hold our Defense hostage again.
Trump, along with so many here, will just draw another line in the sand and say “don’t you dare cross this line!”. The problem is we are mere inches from a 500 foot drop down a cliff right behind us. So depressing.
Is there not one true American to run for office?
“Thanks for the prophecy.”
Thanks for the snark.
You come to a political forum, where people observe and speculate. You can’t find fault in what I’ve posted, so you snark. SMH.
And it actually increases funding for PBS!
Since Trump has been in Office we have gotten pretty much of what he promised!
Are you really that stupid?! The DEMs pretty much get whatever they want these days.
“Geez - Id settle for 1% of what I want at this point.”
And you’ve got less than that since 2017?
Considering the congress >we< sent to DC, and our inability to do much more than complain about the stuff they pass, we are lucky we’ve got what we can from his own actions despite our inability to send competent representatives to DC so he isnt handed this nonsense.
If the bill was veto-proof, why did he sign?
This was the hill upon which to fight. He chose not to. That was a mistake.
I believe him when he says he won't sign another Bill like this.
He wanted to get this military spending.
