The New Boss is Just the Same as the Old Boss? Trump Signs Monster Spending Bill
IWB ^ | Chris Black

Pelosi and Schumer declared victory on Friday following President Trump’s fake veto, i.e. after The Donald signed a monster spending bill which blows the budget into oblivion. However, Trump promised  this will never happen again after signing the 1.3 trillion dollars omnibus spending bill that was passed by the Republican dominated Congress. The omnibus bill does not address the border wall nor immigration issues. Trump complained that the Congress “created a series of documents that nobody was able to read”, hinting at the 2000+ pages of documents passed by the legislature, with lawmakers having less than 36 hours to read it. Needless to say, Democrats were celebrating on Friday at the news that Trump will sign the omnibus bill, as the POTUS initially announced he may veto the spending bill, yet he changed his mind and signed it after all, despite “being unhappy about it”, to quote the President’s own words.

It’s his fault he did not veto the bill.

Trump just Joined the swamp. Cruz would not have signed this bill

You are absolutely correct

Cruz would have never been able to sign, since he would never be president.

We have no friends in the Congress or the Presidency; only us, the core of primarily Judeo-Christians who will fight for our values and be a very tough core to overcome. Trump caved, sadly and fully, to the millionaires who made their fortune off the American taxpayer and who don’t give a s==t about what we believe and what affects us. He’s as bad as the scumbos in Congress who called themselves the Republican “leadership”. I am done with him; while he has been the victim of an incredible hate campaign by the left and their media allies, he gave up with a whimper and some crap about vetoing ‘the next one” - there won’t be a NEXT one, Mr. President, after November, the Dems will control Congress and you will have to focus on impeachment over non-issues thanks to your desertion of your base and the embrace of your new “friends” who could not give a damn about you.

Trump is on the horns of a dilemma. He has to have the military buildup funding right away, which is why he will sign this bill. Trump is preparing for the inevitable eventuality that he will need to initiate a preemptive strike against North Korea in the very imminent future. (Hence his hiring of John Bolton as his National Security Adviser, his being a N. Korea policy hawk.) Trump must have that military funding in place, and thus he will not veto this bill.

It’s all about priorities, and North Korea, with its immediate dangers, trumps (pardon the pun) all. Trump is practical and realistic and knows what his priorities must be. So be it.

Can someone point to where the President has signed this?

As of 1300 hrs today, it was still in the Senate.

Another freeper suggested there may be a real shootin’ war on the horizon, Trump knows it, and did the expedient but unpopular thing to get the military funded.

Politics and life consist of a succession of defeats and victories.

Some people give up easily over defeats, others persevere.

At this point he starts losing me. If he has some 4d plan I almost don’t care. I’m tired of the scum winning. Celebrating. Pumping their rotten fists and saying we got what WE wanted from these Republican assholes again.

“oooooo more war! I can hardly wait!”

You got a better alternative re North Korea, or do you prefer a nuclear armed state run by a Fatboy with attitude. What’s your answer, eh?

Except the left, the swamp and much of his own party want Trump gone more than Kim Jong-un does. No external threat is greater than the enemy within right now.

That’s more likely to happen here at home.

I have come to believe North Korea was a setup to find urgency in the military buildup. Just like the special council, we are up against some shrewd folks. Trump has been good. Got some things done. But he isn’t perfect, so well... he walked into this one. He can feel bad about it all he wants... but in the end he signed away his presidency all the same.

We have no friends in the Congress or the Presidency;

Oh, I get it. Probably better than most. That's still no reason for this to have been signed. It should have been vetoed and sent back to that 'body' to see if those who are up for re election had the stones to over ride it. This was their hill to die on, we should have planted our flag!

Is it better to live out the rest of my life being miserable in this stupid fetid Union or possibly die in another Civil War?

....” This was their hill to die on”.....

That was nor will never happen until the right people are in place...they aren’t yet.

You need a reset button for your thinking as this is for just 5 months...round two coming up!
