Whoever this dumbass Sara Rose is knows nothing about construction. You know, kinda like the resident dumbasses on this forum.

MCM is a construction management firm, they hired FIGG Bridge Design to perform the design work. Joint ventures are complex contractural business relationships which is way beyond the “experts” commenting here.

I would be a little surprised if MCM had any PEs - with the possible exception of Value Engineering. Unlikely any MCM employee sealed any drawing or acted as engineer of record.

To make pronouncements about loads, any responsible and qualified person would have to look at the drawings. Everybody here who has both examined and understands the structural drawings, raise your hand. I thought so.

Now back to your regularly scheduled stupidity.

The dashcam video shows the bridge broke right where the workers were tensioning the cable, so it may have nothing to do with the design.

I am a PE, but not in structural since my area is electrical and controls systems. Thus I am not legally qualified to evaluate or stamp structural drawings, per the PE Code of Ethics. Still, I had to take Strength of Materials in order to get my BSEE and to pass the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.

So far, from what I have read, improper construction sequence appears to be the possible cause. And at least the State of Florida considers Civil:Construction to be an engineering discipline, per the NCEES website.

Yes, I understand structural drawings quite well.
What part of “It was a politically-funded project, built by political donors, designed by a (sexist-diversified) politically-correct “team”, constructed for a politically-connected donor company, for a politically connected congressional district. It fell down, people got killed.” do you not understand?

Well put. The arm chair quarterbacking is epic in this event.
