Should private citizens be allowed to buy surface to air missiles just in case the tyrannical government decides to attack us with F-22s?

Stop! The first attack on civilians with an F-22 would be the best recruiting tool imaginable for a patriot resistance. No politician could show their face in public and would have to move to undisclosed locations. And that means down to every town mayor and board member.
This thread isn't about a CW-II but you can sure educate yourself about the possibility.
What Good Can a Handgun Do Against an Army.....?
120 million gun owners with over 400 million guns and 2-3 trillion rounds of ammo can certainly dissuade a government composed of less than a thousand politicians from doing something as utterly ridiculous as you suggest.

LOL! I don't have a few years to catch you up on how it all works. But success hinges on the blessings of the more ingenuous and technically inclined portion of the rabble in our country. Security depends on the kind of men who tend to care, plan, design and build truly useful basic things, and our security depends on G-d.
