Since the CA story appears imho to be a “nothingburger”, one has to wonder if it wasn’t arranged to get some publicity for him.
There is nothing particularly wrong or immoral about that; or about ambition. But I do find it unusual that he now shows up on the opposite side of the country at a school shooting.

Not immoral, but ambition to ‘be on TV’ and get your face out there is, in my opinion, a problem. It’s not ambition to create something, start a business, become a professional musician or athlete, or a doctor, or anything that requires working hard and making yourself better. It’s ‘short cut’ ambition, at the expense of someone else (in this case the lifeguard). I do have a problem with that.
