I take Zantac and Prilosec. Five pills a day. It’s like my crack. Was costing me a fortune for years. Then a new doctor wrote me a prescription. Now I just pay the copay. I was dumbfounded why no one had done this before.
I sleep on my right side. Will have to try the left!
Left until midnight, then roll over.
Until recently when someone else said they got prilosec by prescription, I had never thought about going that route.
I’ve spent plenty on the magic pill.
A few years ago, I was buying some at a drug store where it was locked down and had to be asked for. The clerk told me that the lockdown was happening because people were opening the boxes and stealing a few pills and close the boxes up.
He said it was the bad economy. I couldn’t help but agree.
40 mg of Prilosec usually controls my symptoms but sometimes have to add 20mg of famotadine. Recently I have found that CBD (yes, the component of hemp and marijuana) is very effective at preventing the esophageal spasms I sometimes get when swallowing. Those aren’t fun, believe me.
Prilosec is Omeprazole. You can buy generic Omeprazole over the counter for a lot less compared to Prilosec.
Zantac is Rantidine. Same thing. You can buy generic Rantidine for less than the cost of Zantac.
Prilosec 42-count at Walgreens: $24.99 = .60 each
Omeprazole 42-count: $18.99 = .45 each
Zantac 65-count: $22.99 = .35 each
Rantidine 65-count: $17.99 = .28 each
Often, Hy-Vee or Walgreens will have 200-count bottles of Rantidine sale priced for about the same price as the 65-count bottle.
I know this because I also have to take both every day.
Insurance companies are pushing back. They’ll suddenly stopping approving your refills. It happened to me, I take pantoprazole. A 90 day supply costs me about $1.50. I’m currently “approved” for 18 months, then I’ll have to have my doc seek reapproval.
