Sigh all you want.

You would have found zero members of the constitutional conventiod stupid enough to buy the notion that another political entity could declare war on The United States, and we could have our military engaged in combat with a credible military force belonging to thaat entity...but unless congress declared it was a war it wouldn’t be a war.

Sorry, I don’t believe that brain dead mid twentieth century equivocation any more than Benjamin Franklin would have.

He would be mocking you far more viciously for accepting indoctrination that paradoxical in your thinking, Nully.

Giving Congress the sole power to declare war was intended to stop Presidents from initiating war. The authors of the Constitution never imagined a population or a government so obtuse as to deny we are also legitimately at war when our forces are attacked.

That fallacy was stupid when Korea was unfolding and it isn’t any more clever now.

So sigh all you want Nully.
We are at war.
