If they're vomiting or have diarrhea and don't have the flu, simply tell them that they probably have food poisoning or forgot to wash hands after touching a micro-nasty substance. That's very common with Malthusian trends and lack of hygiene education today.
Many in their teens and twenties are obviously having bacterial problems from oral sex and passing joints or pipes around. Armed with the knowledge of how such infections are transferred, a crew in a fast food restaurant, for example, can become much healthier with fewer absences from such illnesses.
Oh, and shutting down the drug/alcohol/divorce/cohabitation paradigm would help much toward focusing on health issues and other problems like the economy. Life wasn't perfect before the seventies, but it was brighter.
