Fair points. Storing components leaves more flexibility.

Primers can actually be rebuilt, and smokeless powder can be made.

All depends on the kind of S that comes down.

This all reminds me to go ahead and get a muzzle-loader.

That’s definitely the better solution. For modern equipment, buy cases of completed rounds (everything you need, already packaged). For “make your own primer/powder/projectiles” get a muzzle loader, it will tolerate DIY components much better.

Post WWII, under Brit gun control, the Israelis were clandestinely reloading pistol cartridges with nitrocellulose movie film. Beat that one!
