Land rights group vows to continue fight against 'rogue' state
California gold miners are reeling from a Supreme Court of the United States refusal to hear a high-profile case concerning a statewide suction dredge mining ban.
The top court denied gold miner Brandon Rinehart’s petition for his day in court Jan. 8.
Here’s the hilarious part. The materials for batteries used in electric cars, so popular in California, are obtained by water cannon strip mining. The areas so mined look like the moon, and will not recover in the next ten lifetimes. But, all of those mines are in sh*thole (to quote somebody) countries. Therefore, their environments don’t matter.
You’d be surprised how quickly locust and cedar trees will move in and thrive on very poor land.
If it went to the Supreme Court, it’s a pretty good indication that he’s had his day in court.
ANd these suction dredge miners are mostly hobbiests in the old gold rivers. Supposedly its environmental. California is flooded with Mexicans destroying the forests growing pot, leaving trash and feces on the woods, polluting water, etc.
And they go after some weekend guy looking for a few gold nuggets. Bastards all.
And this was pushed by Indians, and by sportfishing trout groups. It might just be me, but it seems like the fly fishing world is turning into a bunch of insufferable jerks.
This appears at first blush to be a matter under State control as per the 10th Amendment of the Constitution.
