there was a very brief period a few years ago in my neck o’ Colorado that the gun question was being asked along with such questions as “Do you feel safe in your home?”, etc. But that didn’t last long and the gun question got dropped like a hot potato ... I imagine numerous hostile answers contributed to the quick omission ...

Just a couple of months ago a PA pulled that crap on me. Stubborn, self-righteous taco-bending piece of crap. Had the nerve to try that “safety of the children” BS.
I told him you don’t keep children safe by running around like a giant pussy with your skirt up over your head; you keep them safe by teaching gun safety and marksmanship.
