Because of her tear jerking speech at the Golden Globes last night, cries arose from the left calling for Oprah Winfrey to run for President in 2020:
Oprah Winfrey for president was something of a running theme throughout the Golden Globes on Sunday, beginning with Seth Meyers’ opening monologue. He jokingly forbade Winfrey from considering the presidency.Jimmy Kimmel was "on board" with it.But the trend picked up steam as the night unfolded, particularly after Winfrey’s impassioned acceptance speech for the Cecil B. DeMille Award.
It didn’t take long for social media, and celebs in particular, to rally Winfrey for the job, including inside the ceremony.
“It's up to the people,” Winfrey’s longtime partner, Stedman Graham, told The Times. “She would absolutely do it."
Gayle King, Winfrey’s best buddy, echoed Graham’s sentiments: “I thought that speech was incredible. I got goosebumps,” she also told The Times.
Eva Longoria and Keith Urban shared a table at the ceremony and gushed over Winfrey’s remarks.
“That speech!” Longoria said.
“It was more of an exultation,” Urban replied.

This is juxtaposed nicely with some of the scenery posted in Hollywood to greet the celebrities:
They all knew. The loathsome Meryl Streep knew. Oprah knew. Jake Tapper called it the "one of the most open secrets in Hollywood." It would be delicious to see Oprah have to squirm while fending off questions about why she knew about the rampant sexual harassment and did absolutely nothing until it was safe to do so.
That wouldn't be the end of it, either. A British actress accused Oprah of pimping her out to Weinstein:

If the Repukes hold both houses it probably won’t matter. It’ll also be hard for someone who is hard left to win if they don’t sweep 2018. I should say, I currently don’t really have a problem with Oprah as I don’t know much of her stances. Couldn’t be worst than the rest of the Rats currently holding office
Hey! Oprah totally kicked ass in that movie. I’ll say this: She is vastly underrated as an actress.
Oprah will milk it for all its worth for the publicity.
It is not about populism as they think it is about losing factories to china, it about illegal aliens taking our jobs, it's about being told that the middle class is too greedy or is racist, it's about a decline in the standard of living, it's about two sets of laws, one for the politically connected and one for average Americans.
So yes Oprah run, you are part of the problem not part of the solution. Run on socialist principles, run on raising taxes, run on open boarders, run on punishing small business, run on increases regulation, on closing coal mines and power plants, run on grinding the average hard working family man under you iron booted heal! Run Oprah run!

LOL! I would LOVE to see her run, but the Democrat career swamp dwellers would never allow a non-political outsider like her in. They like her money, but she’s not really one of them— that is, a career political hack. Just think of the resistance of the Republican swamp to Trump. The Democrat swamp is twice as deep and ten times as nasty.

I think Oprah would be as formidable a candidate as the Dems could field. Actually Biden would be a stronger candidate but he’d never get nominated because he’s a white male.
Oprah would not present a credible MAD policy though and we’re going back into another Cold War. MAD is what prevented us from blowing up the world during the Cold War.

Before receiving the crown the Oprah must compete with a very nasty lady named Warren, an even nastier lady named Hilarious, Joe Biteme and who knows beyond that. She’s not a politician - I rate her chances at less than 1%, lower than her chances of suffering a violent suicide from 50 feet distance.
And, before you throw Trump in my face, consider, the man is a genius.
