That explains why the Air Force has spent billions of dollars to outfit Air Force One and its escort aircraft with sophisticated electronic countermeasures to defeat missiles. First, if “clearing that up” means causing you to believe what you posted (which is actually not true—see below), then that was not my intent.
Second, Air Force One is not protected with sophisticated countermeasures just to save a few hundred gallons of jet fuel. The countermeasures are to protect against attack.
