I live in the Florida Panhandle. For the most part, the area around here is heavily wooded. You might see a long shot along a power line right of way, or a cotton field but that is not the norm.

In the unlikely event that there is a financial meltdown or any other kind, I do not intend to try and resupply my small collection of guns.

I really wish I had a Remington 700 in 30-06 but that is unlikely to happen at this stage in my life.

I can make do with a Swedish Mauser. I wish it was one of the 24 inch barrel models which I used to have but the 29 inch barrel will be OK.

I have maybe 800 rounds of Lapua Match and Norma softpoint. That is more than ample. I doubt I would survive a shooting match which required more than 20 rounds.

I do have one more interesting rifle. It is a Marlin .22 magnum bolt action. It is not beautifully finished but darn that thing will shoot. It will consistently put all shots into a single hole at 50 yards.

When Walmart was clearing out the 10 shot mags for it, I bought a dozen or so and keep them all loaded in a pouch. I would like to use something more powerful but the accuracy alone might make me choose it.

I have more .22 mag and .22Lr than I will ever use

I grew up in mid florida, and hunted in what used to be woods and cattle country between Osprey and Arcadia. Originally a single shot 20g then I finally got a bolt action, a Remington 788 carbine in .308 . Since most of the hunting was for hogs with fairly short sight distances in palmetto scrub country, I used 220 grain bullets which just punched through the brush. I always kept a few 150 grain rounds in my pocket in case I got a shot across a cow pasture. ( nice thing about a bolt action, it’s easy to swap out a round). The good old days, when you could just walk into the woods and not even hear another shot all day. Unlike the constant powpowpow today.
