EVERYONE gets the 1% Africa bit. This is why Gates can say everything started with a “brother”.

My g.g.grandfather was from Poland. My g.g.grandmother was from Bavaria. Ancestry.com says there I’m only 2% Eastern European. Those English sure watered it down over a few generations.

My YDNA is I M253, the Viking gene. This kinda confirms that my family were Norman oppressors, Family lore and the fact that my family name originated in the Vale of Glamorgan in Wales from a Norman family.

The interesting part is that I got a +/- 2% African I assume from old Ma. Old Ma was of Irish descent and had a rare AB blood type common only in the Basques and the Moors of North Africa, got offered a lot of $$$ for pint of blood, had to turn down because of age.

The only reason I noticed is that my Aunt lost one kid and each of her others had birth problems because of blood type mismatch.
