Lets be honest, the Middle-East has been a complete disaster for longer than most of us can imagine. Once the US firmly planted itself in the Middle-East in 2001, the destabilization of an already volatile region really started to pick up steam. With five out of the top 10 oil producing countries located in the Middle-East, sometimes these conflicts can have extremely negative consequences for oil consumers (pretty much everyone).
The price of almost every product on the market increases as the price of oil goes up. When the price of oil goes up, it costs more for companies to transport goods to your local stores, and they are more than willing to pass those costs on to the consumers. Obviously, it will also cost you a lot more to get to and from work. Surging oil prices will most certainly guarantee that your cost of living surges as well.

Cost of Kleenex going up, cardboard, popcorn, therapy, the list is endless!!!

I guess if I lived in Europe it might have some merit.
Exactly. Asia and Europe are hurt, not us.
And as a consequence, jobs return.
The Dark age was caused by Muslim invasion and piracy. This crap is nothing new. The only thing that changed is we have lost the wi to resist evil.
How very 1970s of them. Nope; thank God for fracking.
I remember queueing for gas with my folks in the 70’s. The ME being a pain in our national backside in not new.
Precisely why we need Energy Independence, should have had a “Manhattan Project” to accomplish this starting back in 1973.
Hear, hear!
