The Pubbies are showing once again that they are stupid if they are not corrupt and complicit with the Dems: Reductions and the elimination in SALT, the mortgage interest deduction, and the healthcare exemption should all have been phased in over time. This is the way the Dems got away with Obamacare and it actually is more fair than a completely abrupt elimination.

Those things should have been coupled with significant, not piddling, reductions in the income tax rates at all levels of income. That is the only way that market contortions such as SALT, and the mortgage and healthcare deductions could be removed. Trump should have had his admin propose this up front in January, and used the bully pulpit to force Congress to pass it.

Alas, none of that has happened and instead we’re essentially handing what was left of a GOP hold on the high-tax states completely over to the Dems.

And for those from low-tax, red states—just remember that the high-tax blue states significantly subsidize your relatively low-wage, low-skill populations.

Trump wanted a tax cut. An across the board tax cut would have been the right thing to do. No one would be a loser and everyones taxes would be cut. This current monstrosity raises middle class taxes to pay for a permanent corporate tax cut for the gop establishment globalist corporate donors. No wonder the gop is so happy with it.

Washington state is a no tax state

Texas is a low tax state

Your understanding of low and no tax states is limited.... like that of most elites
