To: 2ndDivisionVet

Thanksgiving 1969 I spent 8 hours humping F-102’s at Suwon Air Base, just north of Osan. Even our small chow hall cooked turkey and I got my fill while on break. This small connection to our homes and families was a welcome respite from the cultural shock of life in the far east in those days. The guys that worked to feed us daily are to be commended for going out of their way to make their comrad’s turkey day special.

You wouldn’t know Korea now from what I understand. If anything, they’re further along than we are.
