We saw the movie today, and we experienced the tears as well. I hope many make a point of seeing it, not only to support faith-based entertainment, but because the movie is excellent.
A sequel to “Apocalypto”.
Previews suggest incredibly boring, preachy movie. I will pass.

I have it! I read it! In hardback! Supposedly of questionable authenticity, dunno. Cetainly memorable for the "tough guy" attitude of Cortez and company.
He landed with troops, horses, and cannon, and played "Good cop, bad cop" against an arrayed enemy with the horses and cannon, announcing that he was trying to keep them under control, you see.
Another scene I remember is atop a pyramid at a gory sacrificial altar, where Cortez tells Montezuma, "I'm surprised a man of your intelligence indulges in this nonsense. Why don't you tear down this altar and put up a statue of the Virgin Mary." ... the High Priest remarks, "I told you we shouldn't bring him up here." ...
