If you're making a transaction on the internet and think the govt doesn't know about it, you're kidding yourself. Of course cash/person to person transactions circumvent unless caught up in a sting. That's how drugs have been marketed for years. But, lawful transactions like this millionaire made to buy his firearms retail would not have triggered any flags.

You are not necessarily making a "transaction" on the internet with Armslist. You are merely given the contact info for someone who wants to sell their gun. You then contact him and make arrangements to meet somewhere private to complete the transaction. A mall or truckstop parking lot are common locations. And it is all perfectly legal.
