Maybe. But the thought of getting in a wreck would make me cry.
A truck is a work vehicle.
Not a glorified, oversized Caddy.
Bkmrk.
and no seat belts. Dirt roads and Friday nights ... Yum
Not a glorified, oversized Caddy.
Not always.
Some of my co-workers have F350-450s that they use to haul their boats and travel trailers.
The rest of the time they drive them to and from work.
These guys do not do much else with these trucks. Maybe an occasional hunting trip or hauling a load of mulch.
Yeeh Haw! Let’s go muddin!
“With the Texas State Fair coming up tomorrow, Fords new Super Duty Limited line offers Texans three new ways to waste spend their hard-earned cash on Super Duty trucks.”
Every other urban cowboy in TX drives super duties, wears designer jeans, and custom boots. Poor saps wouldn’t know how to throw a bale of hay or drive a fence post!
El Jefe status symbol. Nice truck for those who are in that tax bracket though and don’t worry about fuel costs; maybe even write all of it off for work.
Yes, it is more than most need, but for those who pull a trailer and spend a significant amount of time on the road per year; I can see the value.
Henry Ford made the mistake of thinking people only wanted a vehicle to get from point a to point b. Fancy people, and there are lots of ‘em, want to spend their money on stupid stuff.
Looks more like a status symbol than a work truck.
There better be a retractable side step on this $$$pit, as I’d be pissed spending $100k and it still has no side step.
Where I live, I see pickups and Jeeps that I call show trucks and show jeeps. The guys, and they’re practically always factory workers or gym rats, have them all shiny and full of options, and they baby the hell out of them, because they have so much money tied up in them. They wouldn’t dare get them dirty or take them off road. Or risk getting a tiny ding or scratch on them. And they always park them in the far corners of parking lots, or they take up two parking spaces, or park somewhere, where no one can park beside them. It’s gotta be stressful to worry so much about your expensive pickup or jeep. I can’t imagine how much worse it would be with a pickup described in the article.
Bingo!
It looks not so different from a Super Duty Dodge Ram. If they want $100k for that, they had better make it look like it’s worth it. It’s just another big-ass truck.
