BAD COPS AND THE BLUE CODE OF SILENCE

Posted on 09/24/2017 9:53:37 AM PDT by DIRTYSECRET

My friends they're out there. If you don't think so just look at what's happening in the NFL. I've had my own encounters with asshole cops and seen them operate on others. Rodney King, the waste of human skin did not need 52 swings with a nightstick. It's time the rest of you acknowledge something needs to be done. 2-5% of the cops out there should have their badges taken away. Of the others most don't make it to 20 years-probably the good ones. I say identify who they are and allow their victims to accuse them. Chiefs of Police take note. You may need another line of work also.

The solution is to remove LEO immunity to civil suit.and require, as a condition of employment, that LEOs must purchase malpractice insurance. If they cost the insurer more than the actuaries deem reasonable, they will be unemployable in law enforcement.

I am not posting to increase the chances for my own safety but rather to call out clear cases of abuse and injustice. If cops were given license to shoot Jews, say, without other cause, I’d still be safe - but there would be clear injustice, which I would also object to.

Congress takes the blame not police officers. They only take the cake that is given them.

Only corrupt or corruptible cops take advantage of immoral laws. If Congress gave cops the right to shoot Jews without other cause, would you hold blameless those who did, because the fault properly lies with Congress? I wouldn't.

Civil asset forfeiture is a clear violation of property rights, in addition to revoking the presumption of innocence.

Careful, you're treading close to Godwin's law.

Appropriating an accused drug dealer's F-150, no matter how unethical or immoral it may be, does not have any correlation to murdering Jews.

Rights violations have different magnitudes, but they are all rights violations. Furthermore, not all property seized was owned by drug dealers - many innocents have been caught up in asset forfeiture. (Enough so that many states have enacted laws requiring convictions prior to property being seized. Why? Because cops are, as a group, not ethical enough to behave correctly without such laws.)

This is an ignorant thread.

Society picks the most law abiding, respectful, intelligent, healthy, and strong people that apply for the job to be police officers.

Of those picked, only a small percentage makes it all of way through probation.

I have a good idea based on this stupid thread, let’s go to the prisons and pick the next generation of police officers…
