Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov on September 1 announced the evacuation from Iraq of 12 Russians and Kazakhs, including eight children and four women, who were left behind in areas recently liberated from the Islamic State extremist group.
"This evening, a plane will arrive in Grozny from Iraq with the latest group of our citizens," Kadyrov, head of the mainly Muslim region of Chechnya, wrote on Instagram.
Iraqi police and army commanders have said that many of the foreign IS fighters who mounted a final stand in Mosul, which was liberated in July, came from Russia, particularly Chechnya, and other former Soviet bloc countries.
The Chechen strongman said those on the latest flight included a woman from Chechnya with three children and two women with sons from the Russian cities of Tver and Tyumen, as well as a citizen of Kazakhstan with three children.

Now who would have thought that Chechnyans were joining ISIS?
What Putin does next will be interesting.
The article uses “Russia/Russian” and “Chechnya/Chechen” interchangeably.
No sympathy.
What Putin does next will be interesting.
I wouldn’t lose any sleep if he had the plane shot down!
Russian have their own rules of engagement.
And it is not like Sweden.
The Chechens use Syria for a training ground like the Germans used Spain in the 1930’s.
