Less than two weeks before Election Day, Hillary Clinton held a clear lead in the polls and it looked like her campaign was trying to run up the score just as the race was about to turn upside down.
At 12:37 p.m. ET on Friday, Oct. 28 with 12 days left in the election the campaign blasted out an advisory to reporters announcing that the former secretary of state would be campaigning in reliably Republican Arizona, a move that suggested her team was gunning to compete in states well beyond the battlegrounds they needed for victory against GOP nominee Donald Trump.
They had every right to be confident.
The RealClearPolitics polling average from the day before showed Clinton leading Trump nationally by nearly six points (for perspective, Barack Obama beat Mitt Romney by four points in 2012). State polls had Clinton ahead in key battlegrounds like Pennsylvania and North Carolina. Even the data team doing analytics for the Trump campaign was telling reporters that, as of Oct. 27, they had just a 15 percent chance of winning.
All this was happening while early voting was taking place in states across the country.
In retrospect, however, the race was never as stable as it appeared. A contest featuring the two most unpopular candidates in modern presidential campaign history made the political terrain unstable and more susceptible to sudden shifts.
And the ground began to move under the Clinton teams feet just 20 minutes after its Arizona announcement, with a tweet from Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, the chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, who said the FBI was looking at Clintons emails again.....

How come it is always some outside situation that caused this loss?
It is NEVER, the Democratic Party’s policies.
“... near suicidal grief was FUN FUN FUN to watch!!!! It was the most fun Ive ever had watching election returns.”
Yes! “Must-see TV” for sure. The best EVER!
Right? The day filled me with pride and deep relief, freakin idiot hill worshippers.
More excuse making from NBC cant hide the fact Hillary Clinton was the worst candidate the Democrats nominated for president in decades. She also ran of the worst presidential campaigns in history too!
I never quite understood how Hillary ran such lousy campaigns in 2008 and 2016. Reason being, while what I think of Bill Clinton can’t be stated without profanity, I do have to acknowledge he is a good politician. So what was the deal? Did Hillary not take any advice from Bill? Did Bill not offer advice and support? What really happened behind the scenes with those two?
Just saying, Clinton, Inc. is many unprintable things, but Clinton, Inc. at least in Bill’s time, knew how to run campaigns and win elections.
What's missing from the discussion is just how close the election was and how easily things could have gone the other way.
People who are now saying they weren't surprised very well could have been if a few thousand votes had been different.
By middle October 2016, Hillary Clinton campaign stops couldn't fill an elementary school gym. Meanwhile, if Trump could have gotten access to a college or NFL football stadium, that stadium would be completely full and there would still be an overflow of supporters outside.
Remember when she and billy lived in Our whitehouse? They showed their dislike toward our military by using Lts from the our branches of service as waiters during their state dinners. Remember how the “employees” had to run into nearby offices as they were not allowed to look at her? She has shown the American public her dislike for all of us by her words and actions. Those of us who voted for candidate Trump, knew who and what hillary was and is.
NYC is still colluding with Hillary as to her loss. How funny it is to realize the the skewed polls propagated by NBCABCCBSCNN bit them in the backside.
If only we could harness their tears...
MSM continuing to propagate the big lie.
They were married for a long time and she probably knew what he was going to say before he even said it and discounted it as "typical" Bill Clinton.
That can happen with people who've known each other a long time and heard the same thing over and over again.
They just ignore advice that may be well-meaning and on target because they think it's exactly what the other person says all the time.
Who says it becomes more important than what's said: "Yeah, that's exactly what he'd say. It's what he says all the time."
And Bill probably got used to being ignored and figured he'd just keep quiet and let her figure it all out on her own.
I have to admit the media caused me excess stomach acid, if I had just turned off the media for the 2 months prior to the election, I would have saved myself a lot of useless stress.
The election was between the Producers and the Parasites.
The Producers won this one. The dems did not get enough
Parasites over the border in time.
The Producers still have much work ahead as the Parasites
are still coming.
Democrats and their good intentions are pure as the driven snow, dontchaknow.
Simple, the Dems cannot admit they really don't stand for anything, are anti-American, and only want power and money - it doesn't sell well to voters. They used to be able to promise welfare and government programs, but thinking people realize the government doesn't do much of anything well so big government has become a non-starter.
