The times, much simpler then even with the Cuban Missile Crisis and an abundance of nuclear bomb shelters being sold.

Most of Texas worried about tornadoes rather than Cuba and bombs, though we did have the ‘drills’ in school frequently consisting of the exact same methods should either catastrophic event occur. DUH?!

Oh,yes, although I did worry about Soviet invasion - the nuns drilled us on that! Yes, I know the “Kookie” song. I used to sing it sailing down Sunset Strip.
