I heard on the radio from a resident in the know that Charlottesville is one of the most leftist cities in the Virginia. That surprised me.
Charlottesville is the home of UVA. Hell, it is UVA. Just like every other university town in this country it's a left-wing asylum. Pretty but still a left-wing asylum.
I live in Albemarle CO VA, 14 miles outside of Charlottesville. Charlottesville is extremely left wing, and I do mean extremely.
Charlottesville is to Virginia what Austin is to Texas. It is a liberal enclave largely due to the presence of the University of Virginia and its hangers on. A liberal town in the Piedmont area on the eastern side of the Blue Ridge mountains. Drive over the mountain and you are in the Shenandoah Valley and the most conservative areas of the state.
