Smoked for 50 years and quit cold turkey one day on a foreign business trip. I never knew how easy it was for me to quit. Should have quit a day after I started smoking cigarettes while still a teen.
That's how it was for me. Smoked for 30 years and woke up one morning and said "I'm not going to smoke today." That was almost two years ago. No gum, patches, vaping, anything. Cold turkey. Not a single puff.
Funny thing, I wasn't even planning on quitting. I still had 8 packs left in the carton I had just bought. It was as if God reached into my brain and turned off a switch.
similar experience here.
quite cold turkey after 22 years of smoking.
really was not that difficult. mind over matter. only had two really bad days...
I wish I had not listened to the people who said it was hard..scared me into not trying to quit earlier than I did.
when I decided to quit, I just quit. 15+ years ago already. best thing I ever did for myself.
