Oh, sorry. Perhaps next time I’ll let the TROLLS (or FReepers effectively doing the work of trolls) have the thread to themselves and push for a NEW POLITICAL ALIGNMENT:
Democrats: 45% of the country
Republicans: 20% of the country
New Party: 30% of the country
Others: 5% of the country (i.e., Libertarian/Greens)
Yep, that sounds like a SURE FIRE way to beat the Democrats. Sure does. [only question: how does it work when the above gives Dems 300+ seats in the House, 65+ seats in the Senate, plus the White House? - but we won’t go there, will we]
In fact, the above was the 1992 election, where H. Ross Perot had the percentage of the “Republican Party”, above.

Have to re-do your percentages. Things have changed since the 90s...
"Socialist, Anti-American" Democrats: 25% of the country
"New" Republicans (a subsidiary of the Democrats): 20% of the country
New Party: 50% of the country
Others: 5% of the country (i.e., Libertarian/Greens)
People are disgusted with where the DemocRAT Party has taken the country. Many former Democrats will join the New Party. As for the McConnell/Ryan "Cheap Labor Express" Republicans, Trump can win enough people away from that group.
>> In fact, the above was the 1992 election <<
Yes, and not too different from the 1912 election, where TR’s splitting the GOP gave us Woodrow Wilson and all the bad things that came from having such a hubristic, “progressive” and unrealistically idealistic theoretician in the WH.
