How about this first: A Constitutional amendment directing that if no one person gets a majority of votes, then a run-off election must be held.
That way, Democrat vs. Republican vs. Team MAGA ... hopefully the runoff would be Democrat vs. Team MAGA. Then conservative money would switch from the GOP (now out) to team MAGA.

No, that is tyranny of the majority, exactly why the Founders in their wisdom put the electoral college in.
POTUS by majority vote would mean CA, NY and FL picks our POTUS every time.
