I apologize for starting this rant thread.
As I have posted before, FreeRepublic has been my lifeline and my salvation for almost 20 years.
There was a lot of breaking news last night that I wanted to comment on, and posting every comment was torture.
And I made sure to hit the Post button only once, but my comments were posted - after an agonizing wait - two or three times. How does a DoS attack on the site cause that?
Anyway, as always I enjoyed reading all of your pithy comments on my rant. Thank you all for posting them!

If you are ever in doubt that your post has posted refresh your “comments” page before doing anything else. If it shows up there it posted, if it doesn’t it didn’t and you can stop the post page and try it again. Doing that I almost never have a double post even when everyone else is double and triple posting.
