I spent many years in mangement in a large corporation. To properly build a team that was creative and productive there were several imperatives in my mangement activities:
Protect my team from the whims of upper management.
Never give an employee a negative public appraisal.
Use every resource available to reward good performance.
Create an enviroment where each person was working for the team, not me.
We did well.
I am not sure Trump is doing these things very well. But then again I was never President.
Yeah and corporate America is very different than the govt
I had a boss that use to call me out in public all the time. It was when he wanted to make a point to others who refused to listen to softer gentler reprimands. I knew what he was doing. He knew that I knew.
It worked to get other people’s attention
