Why stop at a basic income? Why not go for a fantastically elaborate income?
[Caveat: I think that caring for the poor is an essential part of godly living. I just grew up during the days of East and West Germany and noticed the different outcomes of the two different systems. The middle class in East Germany were poorer than the poor in West Germany. Still, I’m always open to great ideas for helping the poor. This just doesn’t seem to be one of those great ideas.]
Oh, and here’s an idea, because children are the poorest, pay kids a bazillion dollars a year to encourage only the bestest parents to breed more children, right?
Because single mom households have done so well since the 60s.
