I want to hear him talk about how much green energy a 2000 mile long, 50’ high wall would produce and let the liberals tell us why it shouldn’t happen. If he did this, he’d do more for the green energy movement than every government official in history!

Come, now. We’ve brought-up drilling in ANWR multiple times, while the wacky Left always spew their, “...maybe help in 15 yrs. time...”. And, every 15 yrs. that go by, not ONE (R) has the fortitude to remind the public\Left of what ‘could have been by now’ (oil independence, lower fuel prices, jobs, etc.).

This would be no different.

They have no jurisdiction in Mexico.

The IRS will go to the ends of the earth to track someone down that owes them a stinking dime. Yes, they are that gdamn tyrannical.

Well, I listened to the Iowa rally where he brought it up, and what he’s saying is that it will produce energy and will partially pay for itself.

“And that means that it lowers the amount Mexico will have to pay,” to paraphrase him.

Now, I don’t know if they’ve made efficient solar panels yet to cover the cost. But if it does pay for its own upkeep, that might be worth it.

Maybe.

I’ll need more information first.

Read the rest of the thread and you’ll see that is not, in fact, that case.

Who gets the electricity? The sun generally isn’t to the North so the panels will have to be on Mexico’s side or on top aiming South.

Will Mexico sue us claiming that the solar energy is their’s because the sun is over their country?

These days “legal” is what the bureaucrats or judge says it is.

“Last time I checked, there actually need a reason to seize property besides we feel like it”

If you owe the gov money and you don’t pay, it seizes your assets.

What do you think our brothers to the south will do to those pretty panels?

Depends on which side we mount the panels.

“I want to hear him talk about how much green energy a 2000 mile long, 50’ high wall would produce”

A six foot tall array, fixed at an optimum angle (22 to 28 Degrees at the latitudes of our Southern Border), would produce over a megawatt hour of total electricity per day - so 2,000 miles would produce over two gigawatt hours of electricity per day.

This assumes just mounting some panels pretty flat on the top of the wall. With a little framing, panels could easily extend six feet or more on both the North and South sides at the top, doubling the power.

I would guess that some solar sections would be a good solution for powering sensors and cameras at remote locations, and for some showpiece segments, like urban areas. I doubt that we would ante up the big upfront cost to make it all solar - but that is a political decision.

In what alternate universe does the Mexican government owe us money to build the wall...?

Because Trump said so?

I’d love to see them pay...they have no reason to pay.

If your neighbor throws loud parties and you want to build a fence to keep the noise down...you are going to bill them and expect to get paid?

Seriously?

“In what alternate universe does the Mexican government owe us money to build the wall...?”

How many illegals are here?

How much welfare have they received?

How much free health care have they received?

How much free education have they received?

How much incarceration costs have they run-up?

How many American citizens have been injured/killed by illegals?

Sorry my friend, they owe us.

And they should pay up.

Not going to disagree...

I think we will be waiting a while to get that bill paid...

I agree about their very good looks. However, the dark haired one couln’t seem to concentrate on the speech.

I would hope that there are some in the White House who give due consideration to who is sitting behind the President. They can add or subtract from the event.
