Jim Rob was pinged earlier in this discussion. Neither he nor any moderator has interjected themselves into this discussion or nuked the thread. A reaonsable assumption can be made from that that it doesn't meet the criteria quoted earlier in the thread as being spam or other zot-worthy attributes.

Great ... wonderful.

Then what's the problem with having a thread that any number of people who are veterans of this site view as worthwhile reading maybe .. possibly .. benefiting someone else outside of the site?

When we read a thread that directs us to any site, don't the owners of that site get some benefit from it. Doesn't the Wall Street Journal or the New York Times or any other site on the web use their "hits" as justification for their rates of advertising? They may not receive a "dollar per click" benefit from it, but doesn't my click on that site go to them being able to tell their advertisers, "See, we get a lot of eyes on the site. If you advertise with us, you'll get those very same eyes". What's the difference?

And there is something that has been bothering me. How do we know that the person posting articles from CFP is getting anything from it? Simply because he doesn't respond to responses? Maybe the article itself reflects everything that he wanted to say?
