Then what's the problem with having a thread that any number of people who are veterans of this site view as worthwhile reading maybe .. possibly .. benefiting someone else outside of the site?
When we read a thread that directs us to any site, don't the owners of that site get some benefit from it. Doesn't the Wall Street Journal or the New York Times or any other site on the web use their "hits" as justification for their rates of advertising? They may not receive a "dollar per click" benefit from it, but doesn't my click on that site go to them being able to tell their advertisers, "See, we get a lot of eyes on the site. If you advertise with us, you'll get those very same eyes". What's the difference?
And there is something that has been bothering me. How do we know that the person posting articles from CFP is getting anything from it? Simply because he doesn't respond to responses? Maybe the article itself reflects everything that he wanted to say?
I don’t think that you understand. If you have a problem with Jim’s purpose for his site, perhaps you should contact him.
Or, start your own site. How difficult could that be?

But couldn't the same be said about all of those who are so worried about "blog pimps"? Most of the arguments to that is that "Jim said that it was spam", when he actually has done nothing of the kind.
I'll go back to my earlier position: if Jim or the moderators want to ban this poster and nuke his threads, fine. Until then, the default is .. or should be .. anything the market will bear.
YAWN.
I never once demonized CFP, only busted the spammer who only posts CFP posts here for profit, without ever making a comment on his posts.

And that's all that I've been saying as well. I don't have any problem at all; it's humblegunner and the like that are inferring that they have a problem with what Jim allows on-site.
If Jim or the moderators want to ban this poster, fine. Let them do so and clear the matter up completely. If they don't, then that is saying something as well.

But don't censor Jim Rob's site of something that I may want to view. If he wants to ban the poster and delete the thread, fine. Convince him to do so.

Confront Jim Rob? About what? I don't care whether this thread exists or not. If it's here and I want to read it, I do so. If it doesn't look like something that interests me, I don't, along with probably 80% of the threads on FreeRepublic.
I've got nothing to confront anybody about. I come to FreeRepublic to read what's here and what interests me. If it's not here, I guess I don't read it.

I don’t mind Sean’s posts and the fact that he keeps posting here despite your tantrums, false accusations, and misrepresentaions would lead me to conclude that JR doesn’t mind them either.
And just now a picture formed in my mind:
It’s well into the wee hours of the morning and Humblegunner is jolted awake wondering if someone is posting something on FR that links to a blog? And then he vaults into action and springs to his trusty computer...his fingers a blur on the keyboard as he searches and then finds his quarry! The elusive Blog Pimp!
Descending upon his prey like a Screaming Eagle of Justice he pounds out a post telling that awful person that they’re a BLOG PIMP!!!
His duty obliged, the mission accomplished, Humblegunner returnes to bed to sleep the peaceful sleep that is only know by those who Deliver Internet Justice!
Myself, I will sleep well tonight in the certain knowledge that brave Humblegunner stands watch to defend the interwebz from the ungodly threat posed by blog posts.
