The Europeans often say that about American or German tourists, and a lot worse.
I think it comes down to Trump not agreeing to Obama’s Paris Climate Change agreements.
Remember, Obama just barely got this passed during his last year. He tried it two years earlier, and the support was not there. Not even in western Europe at that time. People were more worried about borders and trade.
