I say the same thing about World
War 2. It was terrible and all by no war no me. My dad had fought in 2 major battles in the Pacific and was shipped home with a parasite Borne disease. Had they not dropped the bomb he was scheduled for duty, attacking the Japanese mainland. Good chance no me, also.

My Dad too. He was a Marine and after barely surviving Okinawa his unit was training for the invasion of Japan. He once told
me he and his budddies knew they would die there. Not suspected, not feared, they knew.
