The Left, guided by the old Communists and Socialists using the old "Ban the Bomb" organization and others like it, built a framework of opposition umbrella organizations like the People's Coalition for Peace and Justice (PCPJ) and The New Mobe to plan and organize mass demonstrations and political action. Throughout the war, those orgaizations were in contact with the enemy and their allies - the Soviets and Chinese - and received money, materials, and guidance from them. At one point there was a regular flow of Leftist operatives back and forth between Hanoi and here.
Eventually the Democrat Party and the media joined this direction and part of their message was that all of us who fought there were "genocidal murderers" and "baby killers".
As I'm sure you are aware almost all of us returning vets had one or more incidents of harassment.
Now, of course, they deny that it happened and push the myth that pro-enemy demonstrations were just a "spontaneous reaction to an unjust, illegal war".
No, it was anything but spontaneous. And those organizations still exist in newer forms and form the skeleton of the anti-Trump organizations.
