Don’t mess with tex-ess
“The experts say if we get hit by an EMP there will only be 10% of the US population alive at the end of a year.”
Well, since I live close to a Sam’s Club, I guess I’m in the 10% !!!!
Just kidding...I doubt anyone on this site is savage enough to able to survive, as that means killing others in cold blood, on a regular basis. Democrats certainly are capable of doing that, as history shows over and over again, but it would be tough for conservatives to have the stomach for it.
Perhaps we should, instead, consider hardening our infrastructure and buying the necessary spare parts...but it just seems easier, I guess, to kick it down the road - then to start sounding like Art Bell.

Imagine a large apartment complex in any city that has a fair amount of families living there. After about 3 days they start realizing the power is not coming on and most vehicles no longer run. It will also take about 3 days for grocery stores to be empty. I do not think fathers are going to just sit there and watch their children starve. I can see groups of them getting together and deciding where they might find food and how to get it. I can also see single men doing the same thing. That would entail commandeering running vehicles and raiding businesses and homes in an ever increasing radius. In think the thought of starving will strip the humanity out of most people.
I have read One Year After. Very icky, but that is how it would be. Of course I don’t think that it would take that long...Long term Marshall Law and government rationing is total control. I have not seen the last book yet.
