Yeah. I was watching The Americans and the following thought came to me: We destroyed the Soviet Union and everybody thought that was great. They undermined our society and it’s collapsed. How do we like them now? It was a cold war. Are we really brainwashed enough to believe we came away unscathed?
Now they’re not even around to capitalize. Just the rag-tag leftovers of the worst generation. I’m not angry with the Russians for doing this. It’s over. That’s why I’d like to end this Russia hacked the election business and develop our natural friendship with this Northern Hemispheric potential ally.
We didn’t defeat communism after the fall of the soviet union anymore than we defeated fascism after WWII. The states may have collapsed, but the ideas didn’t. Still around and catching on again.
