Hopefully, Carol Burnett will be the exception to the rule. I remember when Lucille Ball tried to launch another sitcom in the mid 1980s called "Life With Lucy." It didn't last very long, and was painful to watch. I watched a couple of episodes and felt bad for her. What worked well for Lucy in the 50s and 60s didn't work at all in the 1980s.
